When I have a lot to think about, as I do now, my head feels like a pinball machine with thoughts bouncing all over the place and I’m just waiting for the ding of a great idea. It’s a blessing because I always figure things out, but it’s a curse because it is exhausting. I think in my sleep and I wake up with thoughts racing before I’ve had my first cup of coffee. Sometimes I have to tell myself to stop.
In a state of determination, it’s more important to sit still, breathe, and try to quiet my mind through meditations. The answers will come. Furthermore, it allows me to block out my own negative thoughts and negative energy from other people; it is what I call my zone. In my zone, I am unstoppable. I fly right past the fear and into an autopilot mode of determination where everything else around me just stops and I get to work making things happen.
One reason so few of us achieve what we truly want is that we never direct our focus; we never concentrate our power. Most people dabble their way through life, never deciding to master anything in particular.” – Tony Robbins
I have found that the keys to achieving goals are:
- Focusing on the big picture.
- Choosing a goal and focusing on it exclusively.
- Telling your family and friends you will be focusing on it.
- Asking for support from family, friends and leaders.
- Meditating on it.
- Visualizing your life once you achieve the goal.
- Having a big enough “why.” The reason you’re doing this in the first place should evoke passion and emotion.
- Asking for help from your spirit guides. They will guide you and help you, just be sure to listen.
So just what is my big goal? Right now I’ve set my mind on the goal of having options. I know if I’m open and I work hard, I can give myself options. Maybe that seems wishy washy but in my future, I see it and what that means for my life. I will have the resources to afford the lifestyle style that I want, which is to live freely, not bound by paychecks. Living daily in the process of spiritual development and helping others. I want to give my family a life we never thought possible. To get there, I know I have to work. To work, I have to stop the bouncing thoughts each morning through meditation and give my goals the green light. I work and live for the passion of having a life I’ve always dreamed of. Life is too short not to just go for it.
